The 21 day habit theory. The positive vs negative opinions can be argued all day long. There are reasons most individuals benefit from setting goals to achieve there definition of success. Read on to find out more.
Having a routine breathing some "A.I.R" accountability, implementing goals , risk management while showcasing consistency is key to success. Whatever number we pick, stick to that number and think positive all the way through it. 23 is my number, 21 days of constant accountability, goal setting, risk management. On Day 22, we can rest, re-evaluate, and assess to find out if results are formed. Day 23 "return day" is when the drive, motivation and momentum take place. <div class="alignleft">

Are you excercising consistently ? Are you eating healthy nutritious meals? It’s true, good habits are difficult to form. It takes more than "wants" for a habit to stick. Hard work, discipline, and courage "risk" are required on a daily basis to keep them in place. The hard part is trying to turn a habit into a routine right? Only 21 days?, afterwards it becomes an automatic part of your everyday life? Is it real? Hmmm…maybe. Controversy exist, circulating around the 21 day habit theory. One can say its a myth, others argue it is the reason for their success. Let’s really peel the layers and see what we come up with? The 21 Day Habit Theory was first introduced by Maxwell Maltz, a plastic surgeon in the 1950s. He discovered that a patients who had, for example a face operation, a leg amputated, the person would adjust around 21 days before becoming accustomed to the new situation. His conclusion, that these and many other commonly observed patients with events tend to show a pattern around 21 days for an old mental image to break down and a new mindset to develop.” The idea evolved, therefore the quote was shortened to “It takes 21 days to form a new habit”… This thought process stuck across the world. Time to take ACTION
At the end of the day, how long it takes to form a particular habit doesn't really matter that much. Whether it takes 1 day or 100 days, you have to put in the work either way.
The only way to get to Day 100 is to start with Day 1. So lets forget about the number 21 and have you pick your magical number attached to a goal and put in the work. 23 days has worked for the majority of my clients because Rest, Reassurance and instilling confidence is a huge part of the mental game to achieve higher goal. Lifestyle change occurs over time! We have to put in the work.
