Architects, Civil Engineers & Construction -

I was never the type to do drafting on autocad10 for endless hours. Staking the ground after pacing 300 feet felt senseless. After 2 months of learning how to draft multiple layers, plotting parcels both on paper and physically in the dirt. The need to constantly revise my work was tedious. Being at my fathers engineering firm wasn't the field for me. I tried doing surveying but that was more brain damage and took me a good 1-year to really comprehend the purpose of lot lines. The one thing it taught me was patience. It also taught me the phases and process from seeing it on paper to the end product . I took more joy in submitting the final plans of a Mylar blueprint to the city in order to get a stamp of approval. Civil Engineering was not my cup of tea even though my Dad was the best in the Temecula Ca. www.ranpac.net
Architects are the brains of design and project planning. The visual appearance of buildings and structures come from a number of creative history, experience and taste . When we hear “architect” we refer only to individuals who are registered with a local governing body. To become licensed, architects must meet specific professional training requirements and pass an exam. Architectural services can be obtained from individuals without licenses, but they cannot call themselves architects and cannot sign construction documents. www.plumarchitecture.com
work hand-in-hand with other professionals such as civil engineers to deliver qualified designs. An Architects several stages, from the initial drafts and meetings to the inauguration of a building. Architects are chosen by the client, they gather all the information and ideas in order to create an ideal space that meets client needs while being in compliance to code.
Roles of Architects in Construction
Once an architect is contacted by a client, a meeting is called to discuss the project needs and requirements. Several meetings may take place until both parties are satisfied with the conceptual design. However, designing an entire building is a huge task for a single person; architects work with civil and structural engineers to discuss technical issues and the structural integrity of a building.
Architects are not just involved in the building design phase. Their role is important in every stage of a project.
Construction Stage
Once construction begins, architect will perform site visits and meetings, negotiations with contracts and dealing with and resolving any problems that may occur. Some of the documentation that takes place during construction phases will require architect’s signature and approval. jensensons.com
Main Differences Between an Architect and a Civil Engineer
As discussed before, I am honored to have met owner architects like www.plumarchitecture.com , civil engineers such as www.ranpac.net and last construction owner jensensons.com They all build projects together during the planning, design, and construction phases to complete one common goal making the client happy.
Architects take pleasure in aesthetics, and feeling the functionality of a structure.
Civil engineers will hone in on structural integrity of the project making it lifetime investment
By working as a unit, architects and civil engineers can construct innovative ways to meet the client’s vision and requirements resulting in a successful mission.
